Xiaomi has recently launched a Flagship device the MI 10 5G. Xiaomi is trying to build its reputation as a brand which can produce premium devices as well. As we are tech lovers and always want to test everything new in the market, we've purchased this phone almost a week ago and are testing it since then. So lets quickly talk about this phone.
This phone is an attractive phone which will offer you a lot of features. Xiaomi has paid attention to a lot of small details such as design, haptic vibration motor and a 108MP camera making this phone the most affordable phone offering 108MP.

BATTERY
After the Redmi Series ruling the budget market in India, Xiaomi has made a bold move by launching this device, but let's find out is it really a value for money device.
DESIGN
To be honest, everyone's expectations were really high, but Xiaomi has failed to offer a unique design.
However, the curved glass on the back and front looks very classy, but the rear camera arrangement fails to live up with the expectations. Well the Coral Green colour looks really nice and the glass at the back feels rich.
Mi 10 5G is fairly large in size and feels very heavy too. It weighs 208g and is 9mm thick. Although the phone feels very bulky but the thin bezels wins the heart. There is no headphone jack, but you will find an adapter in the box which is a good move by the company. This phone has a Type-C port, speaker grills and a microphone at the bottom; at the right power button and volume buttons are placed which are easily reachable. There is another speaker at the top which boosts the stereo sound effect and improves the overall experience.
DISPLAY
Xiaomi has done a really good job when it comes to display quality. It's a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel which is really sharp but the resolution is just FHD+(2340x1080) which is slightly disappointing, but on a general note you will not face any issues with this display. The display also support the HDR10+ technology which at its peak gives brightness upto 1,120nits. This display also runs a 90Hz refresh rate to improve your overall experience.
At the top left of the screen, Mi 10 5G has a punch-hole camera cutout which is slightly bigger than the competitors like the Galaxy S20, Galaxy Note 10, Galaxy Note 10 Lite, OnePlus 8 etc.
PERFORMANCE
Xiaomi Mi 10 5G comes with one of the fastest processors, i.e., The Snapdragon 865 which is really a powerful chip. Xiaomi claims that it has used a multi-level cooling solution to keep the components running cool but initially during our gaming test this phones really heats up a lot. We have also noticed that the CPU throttles sometimes but it never gave any negative impact on the performance, its just a heating issue which will probably be solved in future by an OTA update. Overall you will not face any issues with the performance of this phone.

Talking about the battery, this phone has a 4,780mAh battery which supports 30W fast charging facility. This phone also supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3. It took around 2 hrs. to get this phone completely charged from 0-100% and this phone gives screen-on time of about 4-5 on 70% brightness which is fairly good. You will not face any issues regarding the battery life.

CAMERA
According to Xiaomi camera is the main highlight of this phone as it has a 108MP camera. But there's a catch; Telephoto Camera is missing on this device which created a lot of debate even before the launch but Xiaomi wanted to focus on the 108MP camera only, as it is the thing through which they can convince the buyers to purchase this phone.
So, to be more specific, 108MP camera has 1/1.33-inch sensor with the apeture of f/1.7, 13MP camera and two 2MP camera, all three having the aperture of f/2.4, these cameras are capable enough to shoot videos upto 8K which is amazing.
At the front this phone has a 20MP camera with aperture of f/2.0 and this camera can record videos upto 1080p@30fps only which is quite disappointing as a very affordable phone,i.e., The Note 10 Lite(which we will be reviewing very soon) has an option of 4K video recording even from the front facing camera and that phone costs just 38,000INR.
So, the camera performace is very impressive but the black points are really boosted which makes the photos a bit unnatural. However you will not face any problems regarding the camera performance other than this issue. Coming to the video quality, the video will be very unstable when you will record on 8K or even 4K resolutions. In video mode, you will also get an option of 'smooth zoom' which to be honest is not so smooth.
VERDICT
The all new Mi 10 5G runs MIUI 11 and is soon going to receive the update for MIUI 12. The overall Performance of this phone is quite impressive. But I feel this phone has some issues(which I have discussed above) about the heating, the camera not having a telephoto lens, boosted black points in the photos and very unstable video at 4K/8K resolutions, and having such issues makes this phone a bit expensive as the price for the 128/8GB is 50,000INR and the 256/8GB variant costs 55,000INR. According to me the base variant should have started from 40,000INR because in that price point this phone could have been the best choice.
Stay Tuned for more such reviews and updates.
